Full-Stack / Web Application Developer

Lifeware Labs is currently seeking candidates to lead development of our web based software solutions and integrate them with cloud services and mobile applications. As a full-stack developer, you will be involved with all aspects of developing, deploying and maintaining web based applications.

 

We are looking for highly motivated developers who are passionate about building software solutions in the wearable electronic medical devices field. Applicable candidates include those with an undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science or related field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop secure and scalable web applications using JavaScript and front-end frameworks Eg. React, Node.

  • Integrate web applications with cloud services such as AWS.

  • Design database solutions to efficiently store and display data.

  • Communicate and present designs and solutions to the Lifeware team

  • Implement good software development practices including documentation, unit tests.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral Degree in Computer Science, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Human Computer Interaction, or related field.

  • Experience implementing web applications using JavaScript and other front-end frameworks.

  • Experience with AWS solutions such as S3 Buckets, Athena and Amazon Cognito user pools.

  • Optional: Experience with Python and Flask/Django

  • Preferred: 2+ years of work experience working as a web and/or full-stack developer

  • Familiarity with software development practices such as agile and/or Kanban

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 
 

Embedded Developer

 

Lifeware Labs is seeking an experienced embedded developer to lead firmware development for our wearable devices. This position will involve microcontroller development using the nrf Connect SDK environment, as well as Arduino development for prototyping purposes. This position will involve significant collaboration with both the electrical engineering and app development teams. The embedded developer will develop software tests and related documentation. This is a heavy "hands-on" position; the developed firmware will be deployed, tested in clinical trials, and ultimately become FDA cleared.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop operating system for Lifeware's wearable devices.

  • Prototype, test, and deploy firmware in a well documented manner.

  • Implement new firmware features that improve both the user experience as well as the overall scalability of deployment.

  • Coordinate with other teams within Lifeware Labs, included the electrical engineering and app developer teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Preferred: 2+ years experience with nrf Connect SDK

  • Experience with firmware level software programming (C,C++)

  • Experience with driver level development

  • Examples of completed projects using custom PCBs or Arduinos.

  • Excellent independent learner.

Bio-Signal Processing Engineer

Lifeware Labs is currently seeking candidates to lead signal processing efforts as applied to human physiology. As a Bio-Signal Processing Engineer, you will be involved with all aspects of physiological data handling, including signal processing, displaying, and storage. Candidates will implement online and offline algorithms as part of smartphone applications and cloud computing infrastructure. We are looking for highly motivated engineers who are passionate about health data and have proficiency in leading signal processing approaches and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead efforts to create and implement data processing algorithms on ECG and other physiologic signals

  • Fuse sensor data to reduce effects of noise sources on quality of measured vitals

  • Collaborate with Data Scientists/Engineers to devise and experiment novel models utilizing processed medical data

  • Generate well-documented results which demonstrate a relevant scientific approach

  • Communicate results and design strategy to all members of the Lifeware team

  • Translate system requirements into preliminary software/algorithm requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelors, Masters, or Doctoral Degree in Bioengineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field with an emphasis in biological signal processing.

  • Proficient experience with languages such as MATLAB and Python 

  • Working knowledge of signal processing and machine learning software tools

  • Project-based experience implementing signal processing for machine learning algorithms

  • Solid understanding of the underlying implementation details and principles of algorithms

  • Strong critical thinking with effective problem-solving skills in solving new, unique, and technical challenges

  • Holds self accountable for delivering on commitments

  • Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal and communication skills
